NEWLAND CONCERT BRASS

Newland Concert Brass first visited Germany in 1988 during a concert tour of Hochsaurlandkreis in July of that year. This visit developed links with both the area and a local band, the Neheim-Hüsten Fanfaren-Korps. A Twinning Agreement was signed the following year between the two bands.  Both bands have since enjoyed several exchange visits over the years.   Newland Concert Brass last visited Neheim in 2004.  Some members of NCB were delighted to be invited to take part in the Fanfaren-Korps 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2006 (see archive gallery page)

Newland Concert Brass band hosted the Neheim-Hüsten Fanfaren-Korps in June 2008.  Members enjoyed the hospitality of NCB who organised various trips for them.  They stayed with families and friends of NCB. The Fanfaren-Korps took part in Bathgate Procession and John Newland Festival.  They also played in Torphichen to mark the beginning of Torphichen Gala week.  The Fanfaren-Korps also enjoyed visits to Stirling and Edinburgh.  On the Saturday evening, both bands enjoyed a buffet and disco in the Fairway Hotel.  On Sunday evening, an informal time was enjoyed by band members at the Royal British Legion where members could relax (and watch the football!) Presentations were also made between the two bands.
